Parallel to professional practice, teaching strategy and design at the graduate and executive levels has been a long-standing passion.
IIT Institute of Design
Since 2009 I have taught various courses at the IIT Institute of Design in Chicago. I currently teach a range of strategy courses including:
Conversational Experiences explores how emerging technologies including voice interfaces, machine learning and conversational computing paradigms can fit into the human condition. Guest speakers from Microsoft, Google, Leo Burnett, Motorola Solutions and Moment Design have joined the course.
Introduction to Design, the very first course incoming graduate students take to learn the history and dynamics across the field of design. Guest speakers from 18F, PepsiCo, Humana and IDEO have joined the course or hosted class visits.
Additionally, I’ve spearheaded the Bauhaus centennial celebrations at ID by organizing events, lectures, and special courses related to the school’s deep history with the German design school.
CEDIM Master of Business Innovation
Beginning in 2013, I have taught Being Unique and Competitive in CEDIM’s Master of Business Innovation program in Monterrey, Mexico. The course focuses on generating compelling user experience concepts through prototyping which clearly stand out from the competition and have full business potential.
Class workshops include exploring the Ten Types of Innovation
